Kimmre were the official race sponsor of the Unofficial Tour of Girona which was hosted by Craigard. The team donned their Kimmre branded tops and took to the hills around Girona for 4 days of intense cycling. Having covered over 300km, climbed over 18,000 ft and burned a combined 50,000 calories all in 30 degree heat, the beers were certainly well deserved at the end of each stage.
The highlight of the weekend was a 13km, 1,500ft climb up St Grau with a 12km descent down to the coast for a spot of lunch. Speeds of over 45mph were hit, spurred on by the prospect of a cold frosty beer at the bottom.
The weekend offered a good opportunity for the quartet to discuss the major events unfolding in Europe. All agreed that Joe Hart was to blame for letting the second goal in.
Taking part in the epic challenge were Mike Burden of Kimmre, David Foster of Craigard, Ben White of Gatehouse Bank and Ben Urquart of CBRE.
